Ветхая избушка

Вся в снегу стоит.

Бабушка-старушка

Из окна глядит.

Внукам-шалунишкам

По колено снег.

Весел ребятишкам

Быстрых санок бег...

Бегают, смеются,

Лепят снежный дом,

Звонко раздаются

Голоса кругом...

В снежном доме будет

Резвая игра...

Пальчики застудят, -

По домам пора!

Завтра выпьют чаю,

Глянут из окна -

Ан уж дом растаял,

На дворе - весна!

The Dilapidated Hut

The dilapidated hut stands in the snow. The granny-old lady watches from the window. The grandchildren-ragamuffins are up to their knees in snow. The children enjoy the race of speedy sleighs.

They run, smile, and make a snow house. Voices resound loudly all around…In the snow house there will be a lively game…Their fingers will freeze and it will be time to go home! Tomorrow they will drink tea and look out from the window. Already the house has begun to melt. Outside it is spring!
